Ahh, yes. The long awaited new post has come. Finals are over and Christmas break is here, bringing along with it a multitude of awkward moments, and some free time with which I intend to share said awkward moments.
Today's awkwardness occurred while Christmas shopping with my little brother. Now, by little, I mean 6 foot 4. But he'll always be my "little" brother. Sorry, side note. :D As I said, today's story comes from our shopping experience. I need to back up a tad in order to give you all some background info. My parentals decided it would be fun to get my brother and I coordinating Charlie Brown Christmas t-shirts for our annual Christmas photo to be sent out with the Christmas cards. This in itself is not really that awkward. It was kind of cute actually. And even wearing it to the youth group's Christmas party this afternoon is not really that awkward. It was entertaining. However, wearing said matching shirts to go shopping is slightly awkward, especially when you don't remember the fact that you are matching your brother. Yes, that's right.
Setting: check out lane 3 at Hasting's
Cashier: I like your shirt!
Me: Thanks! (I say while still looking down at my debit card while paying, not knowing my brother was right behind me. He had been off looking at something else up until then.)
C: Oh, I was talking to him (my bro.)
M: Oh. Oops. (insert slightly embarassed chuckle here)
C: Oh, but I like yours too! . . . I really like Charlie Brown. I have Charlie Brown wrapping paper.
M: Oh, that's cool! Yeah, we have similar shirts. (awkward grin/giggle)
C: Yeah, that's so cool! Where'd you get them?
M: Kohl's. . . I have the Great Pumpkin one, too.
C: . . . I just love Charlie Brown.
M:Yeah.
And there you have it.

Actually, I'm going to have to say that any time siblings have to wear matching clothes, it is awkward. Sometimes cute, sometimes fun, but always at least a little bit (if not a lot) awkward!
Fun story! Look forward to more as you have more time over break.
